For each microcase, identify which of the four generic consumer situations (marketing communications, purchase, usage/consumption, disposal; there may be more than one) is involved. Also, identify what type of situational influence is involved (e.g. physical surroundings, social surroundings, temporal perspectives, task definition, antecedent states).

1. Tom was out on a date. He felt a little intimidated by his date; he knew she came from a family wealthier than his. Although he usually drinks beer, he ordered an expensive bottle of wine with dinner.
2. Sue always orders pineapple margaritas. She said she first heard of them in Mazatlan (on spring break), where she met her fianc. She was in such a great mood at the time, if she had heard about crabapple brandy shots she'd probably be ordering them all the time now instead.
3. Fahad is trying to lose weight, and has been eating low-fat foods. At a recent office party he was offered some great-looking, high-fat snacks. Not wanting to offend his host, he ate a few.
4. Frank buys Primera's "Dinosaurs and Cheese" for his two year old, and not Kraft's "Macaroni and Cheese." He says the two year old finds the dinosaurs easier to grab and hold onto.
5. Anthony and his study group consider a bowl of noodles to be a great late-night snack.
6. Bill says he would never buy Mutual of Omaha insurance. He first heard of them when they advertised heavily during a very depressing movie on TV. He now he finds Mutual of Omaha depressing.
7. As 5:30 p.m. approached, George knew he didn't have the energy to stay awake through this accounting class. Although he usually avoids caffeine, he grabbed one of his roommate's Cokes on the way out of the apartment and drank it on the way to class.
