In 2022 Durban and nearby areas (South Africa) experienced some of the most severe storms and floods which greatly impacted the state of living of communities affected. One of the most serious aftermath effects were that of water availability. Poor water quality and poor sanitation, where concerns raised and that there were no disaster plans in place which may have potentially reduced the impact of a disaster event experienced such as the floods. Some communities were left for weeks without drinking water. You would like to participate in investigating what disaster plans are in place in other settings who are at an increased risk of flooding. By doing so you would like to adopt and introduce a context- fit disaster plan for Durban should it experience severe floodings in future.
