For IT projects, internal risks come from within an organization due to poor organization, and can take the form of unclear requirements, scope creep, poor resource allocation, or inadequate testing. These issues can compromise organizational strategy and result in deliverables that fail to support the organization's goals. External risks can stem from factors outside of an organization's control, such as vendor delays, regulatory changes, or changes in market demand. Personal risks relate to human factors and can stem from lack of technical expertise, miscommunication among team members, or resistance to change from stakeholders. These risks could reduce productivity, lower morale, delay timelines, inflate budgets, or produce deliverable or systems that do not meet the intended standards. (Tyson, 2018)
