For the repeat assignment part 2 in this module you need to analyse a supply chain for an organisation. To do this you will need to review the Suppliers and Customers of the Organisation, and then examine either the delivery of a product or service from a supplier to the organisation or a product or service that the organisation delivers to its customer.

DETAILS

You are part of a team in the Operations Management Department of the organisation that you have chosen.

You now need to obtain further details about a specific product or service supply chain to make recommendations for improvements

In order to do this you need to create a report that will be given to your organisations management board to assist them in assessing the value created from the supply chain in question.

The choice of product or service is yours; however, it should be something that would be found in a recognisable organisation. You may want to choose a product/service idea that is relevant to your degree course.

DESCRIPTION OF THE STRATEGIC FIT - 10 MARKS

This should include a description of how your proposal fits into the product or service strategy of the technical organisation.

TECHNICAL DETAILS - 30 MARKS

Review/information for the product / service.

Description and graphics, diagrams etc.

Remember when giving the technical description that you are taking a business degree. You also have to remember that you are writing a report that will be read by technical and non-technical members of the management board. Your report must therefore contain sufficient technical details to satisfy the technical members of the board but must also explain key technical concepts in terms that can be easily understood.

MARKET RESEARCH 20 MARKS

You should include details of appropriate market research for your supply chain.

Who and what customers / suppliers are participating in the supply chain

CONCLUSION 15 MARKS

This should summarise your findings and make very clear recommendations to the management board

ORIGINALITY 15 MARKS

You will also be marked on your ability to identify and 'sell' the strengths of the product proposal 10 marks

Novelty of your presentation 5 marks

QUALITY OF THE OVERALL REPORT 10 MARKS

All reports should include an introduction to the report and a list of references.
