For this assignment, address the scenario presented below. The paper should be no more than two pages in length. You are the executive manager for a firm. In order for the firm to remain competitive, you are going to have to install new equipment that will allow you produce a wider variety of goods and be able to hold the tighter tolerances that are required for those goods. If you do not purchase and use the new equipment, the firm will not be competitive and may go out of business. To implement this plan, you will need to conduct extensive training of your employees so that they can effectively utilize this new equipment. You have already shared with your employees the reasons why you need this technology and have presented the implementation and training plan with them. Your problem is that the younger employees are enthusiastic about the new equipment and training. The older employees are not, and are resistant to taking the training and learning how to operate the new equipment. You cannot just fire the older employees as they have been essential to the firms' success over the years. Their knowledge cannot be replaced and if you fired them, it would send a bad message to everyone else in the firm. If they do not use the new equipment, the firm as a whole will suffer financially, and may end up closing. How will you resolve this problem successfully?
