For this assignment, I want you to evaluate two important elements that determine an organizations ability to succeed: Innovation and Change. Innovation is absolutely necessary in order to stay competitive; change is necessary in order to respond quickly (and correctly) to challenges. For this exercise, you can address Question 1 & 4, but interview a manager and give their responses to Questions 2 & 3. Before the interview, you will need to understand the concepts of intellectual property and Lewin's 3-Step Model of change.

The company is "Foot Locker"

1. For this organization, what stage do they occupy in the industry lifecylce? Give some specific reasons to support this conclusion.

2. Describe (in general terms), the intellectual property that the company uses in providing their products or services (this answer may include intellectual property from their suppliers). How does the company protect this property from theft by employees and other organizations?

3. How important is innovation for this company? Do they feel that their level of innovation helps (or hurts) them compete with others in the industry?

3. According to Lewin's model, there are three steps for successful organizational change. Take a recent change the organization has made (i.e. a policy change, change in prices/products, or a change in structure) and describe what the organization did at each step of the model.
