For this assignment, please read Case 2.8 - "Valeant: The Company with a New Pharmaceutical Model and Different Accounting" in your Jennings textbook (pages 78-85). After you have read the case:

1. Please document a brief summary of the overall case, identifying key organizational concerns.

2. In your analysis of the case, please make sure to highlight the key ethical issues faced and the negative outcomes of those unethical behaviors or decisions. Discuss the definitions of the Teleological model of ethics and one additional model. (3 points) and apply them to this case. Make sure to incorporate insights you have gained from your readings and additional research you perform on the ethics models.

3. Highlight the Strategic Alignment Mapping (SAM) model and its components.

4. Please relate these ethical challenges and/or outcomes to your own professional experience. State your position on the case based on all of the above.

The expected length of this assignment is 1-3 pages, excluding

title and reference page. The due date for this assignment is Sunday

at 11:59 pm. For the case analysis, the expectation is that you

will use all of your resources including the textbook, class readings and

course videos to assist you in thoroughly responding to the assignment. Please

make sure to properly cite all sources using APA or MLA formatting.

Grading for the case studies will be based on the following:

Case Analysis Assignments (15 points, each x 5= 75)

The report should cover the five elements addressed in the

AAC&U Ethics Rubric, and will be scored using the following formula derived

from the AAC&Us. The salient parts to cover for full credit:

1. Recognized the preponderance of ethical issues present in the case (3 points)

2. Named at least two ethics models that might be considered in the case (3 points)

3. Applied at least two ethics models to the case (3 points)

4. Shared brief explanation of how your own ethical beliefs developed (3 points)

5. Took a position and defended it (3 points)
