Deliverables$-$Based WBS

Develop a deliverables$-$based WBS for a project in which you are going to build a boat $($you may need to do some research on the components of a boat$).$ Identify all of the major components and provide at least $3$ levels of detail $($level $1$ is the whole boat$).$

Show it both graphically $($like on page $110---$don't worry about work packages$)$ and as a coded list $($like on page $115).$ See below for how to create a graphical WBS in MS Word.

Task$-$Based WBS

Develop a task$-$based WBS for designing and building a boat. Provide at least $3$ levels of detail $($level $1$ is the whole project$).$ It can be graphical or a list; your choice.

You can use the SmartArt feature in MS Word to create a WBS without drawing in each box and line. Here are the steps:

Go to the part of your document where you want the WBS

On the Insert Ribbon, pick SmartArt

Select the hierarchy category, and then the type of hierarchy you want to use for your WBS $($I like Organizational Chart or Hierarchy$)$ This will insert a hierarchy.

Type in your WBS in the box that comes up to the left of the SmartArt graphic. If you don't see that box, click on the arrows on the left side of the graphic.
