For this assignment, you will choose an advertisement, a song, or an article and write an analysis essay about that advertisement, song, or article.

Analyzing is examining each part of something to determine its nature, purpose, or function. Analysis writing is the most common type of writing you will be asked to do in college, especially if you attend a university.

The essential criteria for the assignment are as follows:

• At least three pages, double-spaced
• MLA Format
• Read through ALL of the reading/viewing material and supplementary resources in the earlier weeks on writing an essay.
• Remember to cite your selection in-text and on the Works Cited page.
