For this assignment you will outline a broad classroom strategy to support children within the History-Social Science Domain. What you outline should be something on-going, or something that is practiced to welcome children and families into the classroom by affirming and reflecting their culture, identities, languages, or race/ethnicity. Some classroom strategies include, but are not limited to: Democratic classroom strategies; circle or grouptime, collective decision making and responsibilities. Welcoming, affirming and reflecting culture, identities, languages, or race/ethnicity by having family, books, family photos, a representative and diverse classroom library, learning words and phrases in children's home languages, inviting families to share important aspects of themselves with the class (not just a "culture" day where food is shared once a year).
