For this paper you will be using the template as a guide to assist you in comparing financial statements for both US and another country as you discuss the similarities and differences in reporting based on the companies' annual reports you selected. (companies selected Stryker and Zimmer- BioMet) The companies you select for comparison do need to be related to your major. You will also be discussing how managers use this financial data to make decisions and any recommendations you have for improvement.

• You are going to compare financial statements/annual reports from the US and those from another country.
• Discuss what you found similar/ different between the statements
• What accounting standards are used by each company
• Which financial statement format do you think was easier to read and why
• Which report do you think provides better information for decision making from a management point of view and why

Use of Reports

• Discuss how you would use the financial data in these reports as a manager of those companies -ex. does the information tell you which expenses are higher, which are increasing/decreasing, etc
