For this week's initial thread, write out each step 1, 2, 3, 4, etc., using numbers for each response for clarityto your classmates and your instructor. For this discussion, you are not doing the case conceptualization but only preparing for it. Do not offer a CC of your client (e.g, Jack, George, Gretel, Clare) in this discussion post. That is for the CPCC assignment.

1. Define each step of the inverted pyramid model (IPM) in your own words. There are four steps.
2. Define the case conceptualization (CC) narrative in your own words.This is not in the book but you can see this via Case Presentation of Penny example. Note that a theory is applied to "explain" in the cc process.
3. Identify which one of the four organizational themes you will use for next week's Case Presentation Case Conceptualization (CP-CC) assignment. This is step two of the IPM. See p. 91 of Switzer and Rubin.
4. Then identify one counseling theory you will use for next week's Case Presentation Case Conceptualization (CP-CC) assignment.
5. Offer your theoretical groupings based on literature and offer which ones you will use. Do not offer case study data. Only offer the "natural" grouping from your chosen theory. This is step three of the IPM. Seek out references, and sources on your specific theory to determine "natural groupings."
6. Next, determine the "deeper" issues based on your identified theory. Do not offer data from the case study but offer "deeper" grouping by the theory identified in step 5 above. This is step four of the IPM.
