Question: For your final project, you are to present a Supply Chain Management plan for a new coffee manufacturing / supply / distribution company. The company

For your final project, you are to present a Supply Chain Management plan for a new coffee manufacturing/supply/distribution company. The company will be a producer of high-end coffee, which is to be pre-packaged and sold to high-end retailers, and distributed for use in high-end coffee shops.
For the purposes of this assignment, you are to assume that the company is new, and does not have a pre-established location. This company will not have its own retail presence.
Based on your research, you will propose sites for physical facilities, transport routes, inventory strategies etc. In developing your proposed plan, the following elements are to be considered:
1. Economies of scale
2. Source and destination
3. Product value
4. Company growth (using examples from established companies)
5. Demand projections and forecasts (including assumptions on global buy-in and presence)
6. Production flexibility
7. Storage and transport issues
8. Inventory management
9. Competitive forces
10. Quality assurance
For this project to be successful, you will need to understand the entire industry of coffee manufacturing, distribution, and inventory management. You will need to understand transportation structures, restrictions, trends, demand, distribution channels etc. Many of the assumptions which you will make, will be as a result of research of competing companies.
Project Requirements:
The final project and supply chain plan will include the following components:
1. Research and explanation on the market, industry, trends, evolution, progression. Both the coffee industry, the major markets which this service may apply to and the types of customers throughout the chain.
2. An assessment of how the typical supply chain operates currently, and whether any supply chain innovation might be beneficial to this industry.
3. An explanation of why this service may be beneficial in comparison with competition and other similar services.
Project Guidelines:

2. In completing this project, you must consider both macro and micro forces.

High End coffee company. Sourcing high end coffee beans from South America, Need a vendors to roast and package in the Netherlands preferably Rotherdam. We also need distribution vendors to distribute and target high end coffee shops in the larger Nordic cities. With potential phase 2 bringing roasting and packaging in house on site in Rotherdam.
