The purpose of this final assignment is to assist you in identifying legal issues based upon the actual case facts that you might encounter in your business career and to provide your sound reasoning to your supervisor and legal team as to how a specific business concern should be resolved.

Directions:

1) For the final project, you will read and analyze the case outlined in Gender and Free Speech at Google (A).

2) You will then write a memorandum outlining how Ms. Danielle Brown, Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, should advise Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, and his leadership team on how to respond to the fallout regarding James Damore's memo and his firing.

3) As part of your memorandum, please respond to the question of whether James Damore might win a First Amendment claim against Google based upon the memo he wrote and his firing.

4) Do not conduct any research based upon this actual case! Please only rely upon the case file documents via Harvard Business Publishing. I'm interested in your reasoning.

5) Your memorandum must be at least 5 typed pages, double-spaced with 12 point font.
