FORUM DESCRIPTION

First, consider an organization with which you are familiar (or would like to be familiar). To build upon our discussion of organizational objectives, I am asking you to explore the motivations of that organization. First, identify the organizations stated mission (if there is one). What alternative objectives other than profit-maximization does that mission suggest? Can you find evidence or provide examples of efforts the organization has taken to further those objectives?

Second, thinking about the same organization, can you identify an action recently taken by the organization that was aimed towards increasing profits? Can you identify any actions taken by the organization that suggest an objective or motivation other than profit-maximization and the objectives you identified above?
