A$-$ La bise.

It is not unusual for French people to kiss when they are greeting each other. This is called la bise. Some people kiss twice other three or four times, it varies depending on the region where they live. Women and men can do la bise if they know each other otherwise they will shake hands. It is not unusual for male members of a family or very close male friends to also do la bise.
