From what I understand is that when student-centered learning approaches are applicable in a mathematics classroom the environment is both dynamic and interactive. Instruction is non-traditional and rather than lecture style the students are given autonomy as the teacher guides them. What will be seen in a student-centered learning approach is student discourse at the forefront where students are working collaboratively with each other (Homrich-Knieling, 2024). They discuss mathematical concepts while exploring different approaches to solving problems and connecting to real-world topics. Learning in this environment helps students develop a conceptual understanding of math by developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, motivating them to actively construct their own understanding thereby providing a deeper comprehension. In my contention experienced learning is memorable whereas memorized learning is forgettable and student-centered learning approaches provide experienced learning that can be translated cross content and in life
