"I was tasked with executing the company picnic this past July with the help of the employee engagement committee. Because the employees were taking time out of their shift to attend meetings, I did most of the foot work that was required to kick things off on a good note. This was a $5$ month project. We established the overall objectives and goals by the end of the first month. This included what the venue, theme, date and time of the picnic would be$.$ Surprisingly, the team moved rapidly through the forming and storming stages. We were on a short timeline considering all that we wanted include in this event. With this being said the team understood that we should spend most time preparing for the worst yet anticipating the best outcome of this type of event. The norming stage was short lived. There were many personalities that refused to compromise on certain topics. Instead of working to find a resolution if there was conflict we took ONE vote and moved on$.$ By minimizing the stage of norming, we were able to maintain ample productivity during each meeting. Agree to disagree and move on to the next. There was plenty of room for creativity as there was much diversity when it comes to the personal experience and skills to contribute to the project. All ideas were brainstormed, researched by myself, and reviewed by all members before being voted for$/$against$.$ Participation varied throughout. Reasons being that many people only wanted to participate in the execution of the picnic and not the logistics$.$

Maintain transparently

Establish an understanding of respect and dignity during meetings and any forms of communication

Have a continuous PowerPoint document that contains visuals of the desired outcome of the goal that everyone can see their own ideas and contributions bring the project".
