What is the most important characteristic a small business owner needs to have?

I believe the most important characteristic that a small business owners need to have is patients. When having a business, a lot of things can go wrong, off the bat you might not be success as you thought you would be. Trusting that you have the right tools, the determination and process to have a successful business can be difficult. Being patient is a huge characteristic a small business owner needs to have.

What is the biggest challenge of going into business? What is the biggest benefit?

I think one of the biggest challenges when starting a business is the money. How your going to get that money to start your business, if either taking out a loan (if you get approve), seek inventors or out of pocket. On the other hand, one of the biggest benefits of having your own business is you dont answer to anyone but yourself. Additionally, you are doing something you love every day.

Do you think the benefits of entrepreneurship outweigh the drawbacks?

In my opinion the benefits outweigh the drawbacks due to the fact that all your hard work will show in your business. Seeing how far you have come is much more rewarding than any other job you could possibly have.

I think that the most important characteristic a small business owner needs to have is the confidence in their ability to succeed. I think that this also plays along well with having self discipline and determination. I think that having confidence in ones self is a very powerful thing. When someone is really determined and has the will to succeed they will. They will always find a way and not make any excuses.

The biggest challenge of going into business generally always has to do with finances. Start up capital and having the means to start a business is huge. If a business is unable to produce or have any funds to start with, then there ideally is no business. Another major challenge to starting a business I think is the ability to fully submerge into it. Sometimes people might want to start a business but have other priorities that get in the way of being able to start their own business. However, challenges to start a business usually do end up paying off. When someone is able to find success and create a successful business, the challenges seem to become smaller. Another great benefit to starting a business and becoming successful is the ability to take matters into your own hands. To me this is something that should be able to drive an entrepreneur to become successful.

I do believe that the benefits of entrepreneurship definitely outweigh the drawbacks. Like I mentioned before, the ability to take matters into your own hands is such a huge benefit to being an entrepreneur. In an era where becoming an entrepreneur is heavily influenced by social media, it seems that everyone seems to be chasing the same thing. That is financial freedom and being able to do things that you genuinely enjoy in life.
