give an example peer review to this text Probation is a community-based type of punishment that allows convicted offenders to remain in the community and society under court supervision instead of serving time in jail or prison. There are certain conditions the probationer must abide by, which can include many different things such as community service, anger management classes, drug treatment, random drug testing, etc. Some requirements that might be made are to find and maintain a fulltime job, reporting to your probation officer on a regular basis and not missing meetings. If the probationer fails to do these things, the probation can be revoked and the offender will then serve the remainder of their sentence in jail or prison. (Phelps, 2013.). I believe first-time and non-violent offenders are the best options for probation. A first time offender at age 25, convicted of possession of narcotic drug for example, would be a good fit for probation. They might just need accountability and drug treatment that probation could offer them, rather than sitting in jail. As far as those who are not fit for probation...I would say anyone who is a sex offender, or has been convicted of a violent crime. If you are a violent or repeat offender, or if probation has not helped and you've failed in the past, you should probably not be considered for just probation
