The Formative:I would accomplish throughout the semester and not as a gradingassessmentbut as a teaching and learning system.The formative assessment will help me toidentify thelearner'sstrengths andneeds for improvement.The Formative assessment will also provide me with informationto provideand prepare them for the summative assessment.

The Summative:This assessment is meant for me to provide grades for my students. The summative assessment usually takes place at the end of the semester or the end of a unit.It is theaccumulation of the student's overall progress throughout thesemester or school year.

Norm Assessment:The norm-referencedassessment;this kind of assessment isconsidered a"group centered"assessment because I have to compare one studentwith another student.I will start with students of the sameage and later take into consideration the student's advancestatusand progress reports.The reason for this isbecause of the detrimental circumstances thata student can have because ofany negativeemotions it might bring forth.

The Criterion:Using thecriterion-referenced assessmentwith my students is an excellent idea because I do not have to on an ongoingbasiscompare them to each other, but in this case,I will compare them to a predetermined criterionor standard.This kind of assessment is centered around the activity.This kind of assessment is more achievable than the norm assessment.The criterion-referencedassessment should be able to providethe teacher (me)more accurate information about the students learning outcomes,and it should also provideenough information to the teacher, so the teacher should know exactly whatadditional work the student needs toreach the next level of achievement.

Ipsative Assessment:The Ipsative referencingassessment is one of everyone's favorite assessmentsbecause it comparesthe student'scurrents performance to the student's pastperformance.This kind of assessment isconsideredto bea"child centered"assessmentbecausethestudent focuses on beatingtheir previous selves.This kind of assessment promotes and enhances students'self-steam, motivation,and accountability.It also proves a foundation forself-assessment.
