Background Information
The case study per se analyzes leadership vs transformational leadership within Big Bank, a fictional bank in Canada added as the sixth out of five top most banks.Big Bank customer satisfaction according to J.D.Power survey scored 787 putting it on a competition level with large banks .Ms.Tamara Smith is the Vice-President of Big Bank liable for Region "O." That region has 30 branches each with around 26 representatives. Each branch manager responsible for the activity of that area, its workers,and furthermore, the client experience.Tamara Smith began her financial profession as a center understudy while finishing her college degree. She has gone through the beyond 22 years succeeding in dynamically dependable positions. Ms. Smith has exploited Big Bank's different preparation programs in money, banking, and authoritative tasks.

Transformational leadership is a leadership style in which leaders encourage, inspire and motivate employees to innovate and create change that will help grow and shape the future success of the company (White, S. K., & Writer, 2018, February 21).This leadership model inspires strong leadership with the norm that other employees will follow..What is transactional leadership? This is a leadership model which offers rewards for certain behaviors in the short term but does not really inspire overall change. In addition to that for transactional leadership to work it requires micro management.
Some of the benefits of this leadership model include promoting motivation and advancement of positivity among employees ,Represents moral standards like fairness and integrity inside the association and energizes something similar of others,Encourages a moral workplace with clear goals, values and priorities.It also constructs organization culture by empowering representatives to move from a demeanor of personal responsibility to an outlook where they are working for a long term benefit,Alongside that it gives coaching and mentoring however allowing workers to decide and take responsibility of their work.For transformational leadership to be effective, you must have a clear and inspirational vision of your team's future. This vision should outline the purpose of the organization as it is relevant to the business and its mission as a whole .In connection to this transformational leadership can be developed if Big bank branch managers put into action these four elements;Idealized influence,inspirational motivation,Individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation.
Ethics and Stakeholder concerns
The banking sector is one of the most sensitive firms worldwide. Good conduct and ethics are expected in such working environments. In this case study, some of the ethical issues that may arise are manipulation of credit sales and discrimination in personal loan sales. I agree with Ms Tamara Smith discouraging unethical practices which may lead to harsh penalties and jeopardize the status of the bank.Performance can be key in the banking sector but this should not offset the employees from the vision of the company.Banking stakeholders include employees,customers,investors,government and the financial markets and their needs vary.When it comes to employees their main concern is stability of employment,professional development and good salary,for customers the main concern is the quality of the services and safety of their funds.Additionally for investors transparency and fast and easy access to the banks information.The government interacts with banks regulate interest rates and in policy making whereas banks provide information about capital and liquidity necessities for Financial Institutions
Practitioner perspective
In my opinion I think that transformational leadership has more pros than cons. In that case, I think Big Bank branch managers should apply this leadership style. Moreover, new employees given such training will have an idea of how important good ethics is in such a workplace environment so that the vision of the Big Bank is achieved, with efforts from all employers and employees. By doing this, Big Bank can become one of the most reputable banks. Transformational leadership is beneficial for employees, not only in the success of the business but also in their professional development. Working is not only about training skills and technical skills; I strongly believe that leadership training can enhance the professional relationship among employers, employees and clients.
Appropriate Research Designs
The most appropriate research design that can be applied in this study is both descriptive and diagnostic research designs. Descriptive research design is about examining the study,collecting information and analyzing data of how this study can be improved and information can be understood.On the other hand, Diagnostic research design involves evaluating the cause and effects of a study and coming up with a solution or a better call of action.
Variable details and Sample description
In this study the main dependent variable in this study is transformational leadership and how it relates with other variables like performance and stakeholders.Furthermore,in the study the "sample" includes: Canadian banks,the Big Bank branch managers and stakeholders
Procedures and Analysis plans
I identified the topic of the study and planned out the design that i will use.I then went ahead and collected data from secondary sources.Thirdly I analyzed and interpreted the information and reported my results,When developing my analysis plan I highlighted the research questions from the case study instruction document.That made it easy for me to determine research questions and gave me a framework of the variables
Expected Findings and Expected Contributions (Implications)
To conclude, transformational leadership turns out to be a great strategy to improve the workplace ethics and performance. By teaching these four elements: idealized influence,inspirational motivation,Individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation employees can learn transformational leadership model.In addition to this leadership training plus technical training will result in quality service. Since banks are one of the most sensitive businesses, it is important to ensure good code of conduct and business success. Efforts will be encouraged from all sectors of the bank and also good ethics make an ethical leader. We expect the company to be lenient and at the same time ensure everyone is doing their job positively, where no fraudulent actions are being carried out.
