Given the complex problems of system interoperability resulting from vendors differing software and data management platforms, discuss (1) the merits when the federal government becomes involved in regulating the features and types of HIT software products available on the market and (2) other issues when the federal government becomes involved with regulating features. The content of the paper should discuss interoperability as well as other issues.
