Hello

Can someone please answer these questions for me please

You are the manager of the local Pizza Hut store in your neighborhood. To improve the performance of your store, you decide to apply competitive benchmarking. (i) Select two performance measures to benchmark the performance of your store against a competitor. Describe each performance indicator, explain how your will measure them and, how you will collect data. (ii) Explain how selected performance measures will help to improve performance of your store.

Here are the different performance measures

Productivity Capacity Quality Speed of delivery Flexibility Process velocity

And here is information about each performance measure

Productivity:

The efficiency with which inputs are transformed into outputs. Measures how well we convert inputs into outputs. Total vs partial productivity measures Hours, cubic metres, number of parts, etc. Productivity is a relative measure

Productivity = outputs / inputs = output - produced / resource - consumed

Capacity:

The output capability of a process in a given time period Design capacity Ideal output rate in normal circumstances Maximum capacity Maximum potential output rate (short bursts) Capacity utilisation Percentage of available capacity that is actually used

Capacity utilisation = Actual output \ Design capacity

Homogeneous vs Variable output Cars, computers, etc. Lecturers, managers, etc.

Capacity utilisation = Actual machine hour used \ total machine hours available

Quality:

Defect rate of products produced internally externally environmental impact scrap or waste

Speed of delivery: two dimensions lead time delivery time variability

Flexibility:

Adjustable transformation process Competitive advantage can lie in ability to produce customised products; variety of a product Agile manufacturing Three dimensions of process flexibility Speed of adaptability from one product to another Ability to react to changes in volume Ability to produce more than one product simultaneously

Process Velocity:

Process velocity = total throughput time \ value added time

As with other measurements, process velocity is equally applicable to manufacturing as well as services.
