Hello class,

I am currently working in Learning and Development, and I plan to stay in this field. In fact, it is the whole reason I am pursuing a degree in Instructional Design! On a personal level, I have always loved teaching others. This began back when I was a teenager and started teaching children martial arts. On a professional level, I have been a trainer in nearly every job I have held. While the jobs themselves may have been different, the desire to train and develop others has remained a constant in my life. Now that I am in a position where I get to train and develop others daily, I am excited to do more with this career.

Over the past few years I have developed a love for content design. As much as I enjoy teaching the content, I find myself having more fun developing the course material and thinking of new and creative ways to present topics to our learners. I have become proficient in both PowerPoint and Storyline as I work to develop courses, and I love tinkering with the features these programs have to create more robust and engaging content.

I want to learn more about the different learning styles and how they work with each other. As a corporate trainer, I work with employees who are visual learners, hands on learners, and auditory learners. I also work with employees who are confident in their abilities and jump into all types of problem solving, and I work with employees who prefer to stay in the background. Ultimately, I want to learn how to design content that will allow learners of any style to be able to understand the content. Knowing more about the different learning styles will help with this.
