I am working on my data analysis assignment in healthcare background . I want to propose that I want to compare the state wide cigarette smoking ( %) in the adults in the year 2017 to the government set goal at below 12% as part of healthy people 2020 project of the government. I am thinking to use a one sample t-test to analyse or compare the mean of the population against the set goal ( standard) mean of 12 %. please share some suggestions if this project would be a good idea and what to prove and how to as part of my data analysis.
