Hello! I need help coming up with a script/story line. Its not very long but I'm just having trouble with that part. I'll make the video and everything but I just need some help creating the script and backround story if needed. Thank you so much! :)

You will be creating a 1-3 minute video to show one skill you learned in this unit. You may want to ask a friend or family member to help you with the video.

Materials Needed:

• Video recording device
• Friends/family members to act out situations

There are a variety of elements required in order to run a restaurant smoothly and profitably, and while a Code of Ethics is certainly important, it cannot lead to a profitable operation on its own. Each person, whether in the BOH (back of house), FOH (front of house), or other staff members, must play a role and take care of their specific responsibilities, in addition to putting the information in the Code of Ethics into action.

So for this lab you will imagine that you are starting to work at your first restaurant. This can be any type of restaurant you would like, but you will start out in a lower position and work your way up, just like most people do in the culinary world.

Summary

First, write a quick summary of the type of restaurant you are working in, including your role there and how you fit into the kitchen brigade. Who do you report to? Who works at the same level as you? Who would you go to if you had a misunderstanding with someone else on the brigade?

Next, create a 1-3 minute video demonstrating ONE of the following scenarios you will encounter and deal with at your new place of work:

• Option #1: The ability to listen and follow instructions from a superior
• Option #2: The ability to be an effective teammate and leader among people who are very different from you
• Option #3: A workplace situation that requires you to make quick decisions using ethical reasoning

You will likely need to employ the help of a friend or family member to act out these various scenarios with you. You should come up with a general idea and synopsis for each video that you will record. You do not need to have a full script written before recording; however, you should have a basic idea of how you will demonstrate the required concepts and what role you and your friend/family member will play.

If any of the videos require an additional explanation or a 'back story' to be fully understood, feel free to speak directly to the camera prior to starting your scenario.
