You have heard that white light produces really interesting diffraction patterns. So you replace the laser pointer with different white light sources and compare their interference patterns.You find and test the following white light sources:
(a) a fluorescent tube from the ceiling fixture
(b) an LED light from your optics kit
(c) an old incandescent desk bulb
(d) a lighted candle
You place each of the light sources in front of the diffraction grating and place a converging lens in front of the source to focus the image in the center of the grating. You take a picture of the diffraction patterns you observe (Figure 3 below).
