Schizophrenia and psychotic disorders have been written about in books and often misrepresented in movies. With Schizophrenia the clinician often diagnoses a co-occurring substance-related disorder.

• Develop a treatment plan for an individual diagnosed with Schizophrenia and a co-occurring substance-related disorder including medication recommendations.
• In your professional opinion, why do you think the psychotic disorders are often misrepresented in the media?
