Help me with removing an index form an array [JAVA]

I can't figure this out. Here is my method; and please don't tell me to use arrayList as we cannot use that for this assignment.

public void remove(int index) { if (index<=0) { for (int i = 0; i < index; i++) arr[i] = arr[i-1]; size--; } else { System.out.println("index " + index + " unfound"); } }

We have a test program, and my program is not deleting the 0th index in the test program. I can't figure out why.
