Northumberland University $($NU$)$ has numerous responsibility centres, which are called Departments. Some examples and brief descriptions of the activities of each responsibility centre follow.

The manager does not have responsibility for investment decisions related to equipment or facilities.$],[$Building maintenance,Routine maintenance of all NU buildings. NU departments are not charged a fee for maintenance services.$],[$Printing and copying services,Printing and photocopying services for NU students with fees charged per job. The manager does not have responsibility for investment decisions related to printing or copying equipment.$],[$Technology support,Computer and technology support provided to other NU departments. No fees are charged for the support provided.$],[$Campus expansion,Development of facilities on undeveloped land owned by NU that are rented to private$-$sector companies. Activities include investing in building construction, setting rental rates, and providing support services such as maintenance, snow removal, etc.$]]$

For each department, assume that the manager is responsible for all costs related to the unit's activities $($e$.$g$.,$ staff costs$)$ except as otherwise indicated.
