Hey everyone I'm having a hard time understanding this problem with my Intro to C class. I'm not sure how to read multiple numbers without assigning a pre-amount of variables for each entry. The problem is:

Write a program that reads in a series of integers in the range of 1 to 40, with the first number indicating how many integers follow it. Print out a bar chart of the numbers entered. For example, if the following is entered at a prompt: For example: Enter integers between 1 and 40 (first number indicates how many there are): 3 10 13 9

An array cannot be used but instead only a For loop and scanf's.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
