Company: The Great Little Box Company Ltd. General Instructions This assignment is to be performed in groups. You are to select a mid-sized organization based in Canada, with 1000 employees and $10 million revenue . Your instructor must approve your selection. APA formatting must be used for referencing sources. This includes in-text citations, a reference list, and so on. You must use an organization's annual report if it is available (i.e., all publicly-traded organizations and most non-profits). If you are unclear as to what constitutes a primary or secondary source, please consult https://library.ulethbridge.ca/evaluatingsources/pstsources for more information. You must use at least six (6) quality sources for this assignment. To avoid plagiarism, there are three elements that must be present: A clear indication of which words or ideas are not your own; A properly-formatted in-text citation to the relevant source material; and A properly-formatted reference list which includes all references cited in the text. Approach to Assignment Assume you are internal consultants for the organization. You have been asked by the senior leadership team to: Conduct an environmental scan (general and task environments) and SWOT analysis of the organization Use the information above to identify two (2) potential problems and/or opportunities the organization is currently facing Apply the material from Modules 7 - 9 (organizing function) to identify two (2) recommendations that will address the identified problems or opportunities. Module 7: Leading Teams Module 8: Managing Human Resources Module 9: Managing Individual and a Diverse Workforce When you are acting as internal consultants, you should: Write a memo TO the organization, not ABOUT them Include only the amount of SWOT analysis and environmental scan necessary to situate the problems / opportunities Be clear in your analysis of the problems / opportunities and accompanying recommendations Be aware of the organization's capabilities (e.g., size, financial resources, human resources, etc.) when making your recommendations Assignment Deliverables Use the rubric to ensure you meet all the expectations of this assignment. Environmental scan and SWOT analysis of the organization, fully-referenced using APA format. NOTE: You are not required to submit your RADAR evaluations or assess your recommendations using a managerial mindset, but you should still work through these activities as a way to self-evaluate your ideas. A two (2) page memorandum, single-spaced, with 12 point font, using appropriate headings, and with 1" margins. The memorandum need not use APA referencing, but can use more informal forms of referencing such as, "According to Statistics Canada, the average household income..." or "Market research suggests..."
