Although life is typically represented as a path it is not a straight path. Many of our most important measures of success (performance, well-being, happiness) are disproportionately affected by how we manage 'turning points' - transitional events that produce lasting shifts in the meaning, purpose, or direction of a person's life course trajectory. In this course you will utilize the material to reflect on your past turning points and plot strategies for better managing current/future inflections. For each half of our course you will select a different turning point in your life and complete a learning exercise on it that applies the modules' competency areas. The general format for these learning exercises is as follows: (a) Justification - A general description of the turning point and understanding of how it relates to the covered materials; (b) Analysis/Past - Specific personal evaluation of the turning point based upon your self-assessments from the text and particular demands of the situation to explain why things happened the way that they did; (c) Development/Present - Grounded plan and timetable for skill development along with an appraisal of the specific step-by-step actions that you are taking now for becoming stronger in this area; and (d) Evolution/Future - Lessons, principles, and development strategies which you will commit to pursue going forward as you continue to navigate your path. Each of the reports must be no longer than ten double-spaced, typewritten page and submitted via Turnitin Assignment. They will be evaluated on the degree to which they adhere to the aforementioned guidelines, the depth/quality to which they systematically integrate text and personal information, and the fidelity to which they address their objectives.
