As I have worked in both the retail and fast food industries for quite some time, I have come to see that it is really employees who are essential for keeping these companies and chains running, as these chains and stores highly rely on highly trained and capable staff. Even outside these sectors, employee hard work ensures the effective operation of the business, and unhappy employees can mean less effective work and hence lower business for the company. Although COVID-19 has allowed everyone to fully see the value of workers, employees have always been the most valuable aspect of a company. 2. There are many things that corporations can do to treat employees well. The first thing that would need to be done is to ensure a positive work environment for workers coming in. Having clear company goals made available, instilling a sense of pride and making the workers believe a company values them would be indispensable. As well, fair pay and great benefits being provided may give employees encouragement to put more effort into their work. However, many corporations get these wrong; a negative work environment, which can include poor management unclear goals, will greatly impact employee productivity negatively. As well, below-average pay and few or no benefits will lead to workers not caring about their work and will hence also result in decreased productivity. 3. Diversity-This could relate to improve human relations through allowing for a more diverse workforce, as well as being more open to different perspectives. Employers can utilize this to advance both the company's image and message as well as improve its workforce. Inclusion-Being more open to different perspectives and cultures will not only diversify but also improve the workforce due to new perspectives and ideas. Diversity training-this will allow employees to gain new skills suited to working in a diverse workforce, which will educate them and improve relations among co-workers. Job enlargement-Expanding the importance, scope and value of employee's roles will give them a greater sense of responsibility and will allow them to maximize their potential to both their and the company's benefit. Sabbatical-Allowing employees a leave of absence with paid leave and benefits in order to learn new skills will allow an employee to advance their personal development as well as keeping them happy and allowing them to continue making money and receiving benefits
