How do I repsond to this....

Previously I worked for a company called MAC Cosmetics in Charlotte, NC. Its important to know that our location was inside of the CLT Airport. It was very hard to find great talent and even harder to keep employees. This was an issue we ran into my entire time there up until I left. Initially HR was not a part of the interview process. The process is so different than your typical job, they decided to step aside and let the managers handle the hiring. Once the issues were identified, HR decided to sit in on the interviews and ask some additional questions outside of MAC Cosmetics generic questions to weed out anyone who really shouldnt be there. Communication and consultation are 2 of the behavioral competencies that the HR professionals needed to demonstrate in order to gain management buy-in. The impact HR initiatives not being developed across the organization would be hiring great talent but failing to keep them in house. People will get there and then realize that the dislike the environment. That is exactly what happened at MAC. They hired great talent but when it came to keeping them, they struggled.
