How do i respond to discussion bellow?

To start off I think it is important to define what ethics should be considered in research. According to Boyland (2020) ethical norms should promote the search of knowledge with the intention to avoid error, promote values successful to collaboration, respect, trust, and accountability (para. 2). These considerations should be taken into account to avoid becoming horribly biased or misleading.

I view the next questions as either funded or unfunded research when discussing paid or unpaid research. Unfunded research is still funded in some way but usually the research being conducted is driven by the individuals will to do so. This can come with some benefits. Collins (2021), explains, "when you don't have to adhere to the allowable and disallowable expenses the funder sets forth, you have much more freedom and flexibility to do what's best for the research and your own timeline" (para. 10). Funded research can come with the stigma that the objectives of the research only benefit and favor those who provide the funding. Johnson (2019) states that 58% tend to have less trust in the research if they were told it was funded (para. 2). In my opinion, I do not believe you can be as objective if your research is being completely funded by a third party. Unless the third party had zero relation or interest to your research.

When it comes to life examples of ethical issues in research I have noticed that politically backed research tends to break the rules mentioned earlier in this post. As far as business goes, I have sometimes seen the anonymity of surveys broken. This can lead to more people not truthfully when trying to measure the climate of a workplace.
