The pipeline would not be considered intermodal transportation due to the lack of freights containers. If you use pipelines to transport to a freight truck then it might be considered intermodal, but I do not see that happening (if anyone has a better example of connecting pipeline to intermodal please let me know).

Global logistics is propelled forward by multimodal transportation. Almost all items are transported around the world using some form of multimodal transportation. Intermodal is also used by the US military. All global mobilizations, whether to support warfighters or to respond to humanitarian crises, rely on multimodal transportation.
