How would you respond to this post?

Evaluate the article and describe the current vision statement and the change occurring within the organization. The company I chose for this discussion topic is Amazon. I like so many others are a Prime Member who orders everything from formal gowns to replacement drill bits. Amazon, especially now during the current corona virus pandemic have become a trusted and invaluable service to everyone around the world. The article focuses on the factors that have made Amazon the second largest employer in the US and one of the most profitable companies in the world. The article gives a brief historical timeline to paint the picture of how Amazon paved its own road to success. The article mentions that CEO/Founder Jeff Bezos himself attributes the massive success of Amazon to the customer first philosophy. The current Amazon mission statement reads "Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. This is what unites Amazonians across teams and geographies as we are all striving to delight our customers and make their lives easier, one innovative product, service, and idea at a time" (Amazon.jobs , n.d.). As mentioned in the article Amazon will be the most important company of the 2020s by (Rosoff, 2019) it took Amazon nearly 10 years to gradually add products, services, and acquiring other companies such as Whole Foods to be the dominant retailer it is today. I feel that Amazon mirrors its own mission statement by ensuring the customer experience is a pleasurable one at all times. I absolutely love having the free returns option and the ability to return items to the nearest Kohl's store as an added level of convenience. Moreover, Amazon gives its customers the refund on returned items much faster than other online based companies which is another win in their column for me. In the wake of the current pandemic, I do however feel that more should have been done to protect their workers from spread of the corona virus. If there is any revision to be made to the mission statement for Amazon it would be to remember workers get the product to the customer therefore they should be prioritized as well.
