However, one area where I believe there could be improvement is in the utilization of technology to foster virtual team cohesion. I cannot say that we could leverage the utilization of technology for performance improvement, because I feel that my company already does and is consistently looking at innovative ways to ensure our work and performance is optimized by leveraging such technology. However, there are studies that show that professional isolation negatively affects satisfaction with the work experience, but does not affect affective organizational commitment (Deschnes, 2023). Based on some of these studies and on my own personal experience, I would say that leveraging the use of technology to foster virtual team cohesion could further enhance our approach to performance management in a remote-first environment
