Review the conflict situations outlined below.

1. The conflict involves two separate unions who have differing opinions on which union's members should be assigned to carry out a specific task within a project. The disagreement centers around interpretations of past practice during the project. Both unions have different reasons for why their members should have priority over the other union's members.
2. There is a dispute between two technology firms over a potential case of copyright infringement, where one firm is accused of using copyrighted material belonging to the other firm without permission.
3. Two coworkers disagree over how to approach a project they have been assigned to work on together. One co-worker believes that they should focus on completing the project as quickly as possible, even if it means cutting corners or sacrificing quality. The other co-worker believes that they should prioritize quality and take the time to ensure that the project is done correctly, even if it means taking longer than initially planned.
4. A citizen has lodged a complaint regarding the substandard service provided by a government department. The complaint involves the departments lack of responsiveness to the citizen's concerns.
5. Two companies are currently experiencing a conflict due to differing interpretations of the terms outlined in a previously agreed-upon contract which both parties signed. This disagreement has resulted in a dispute over the fulfillment of contractual obligations.

Requirements

• Based on the 5 conflict situations described, choose the most appropriate ADR process to address the conflict. The process could be any ADR process discussed in class including hybrid processes. Please note that court/litigation is not an ADR process. (1 mark per situation)
• Provide 3 reasons why you believe the process you have chosen would be the most appropriate. Make sure to emphasize why it is preferable to other ADR processes. Generic answers will not provide full marks. (3 marks per situation)
• Keep in mind that there may be multiple right answers to each of the statements. Your reasoning and supporting information are the most important part.
• The assignment is worth a total of 20 marks representing 10% of your overall grade. Use the marks outlined for each point to determine the extent of your answers.
