HW17_#1- DISTRIBUTED
The beam is subjected to the distributed loads shown and supported by a rocker at C and a pin at A. Assume the rocker can support vertical forces either up or down. Point D is located halfway between A and B. Point E is located halfway between B and C .
A. Find the support forces at A and C.
B. Draw both FBDs (above and below cut) you could use to solve for the internal axial force (ADD), shear force (VD), and bending moment (MD) at point D .
C. Draw both FBDs (left and right of cut) you could use to solve for the internal axial force (AE), shear force (VE), and bending moment ( ME ) at point E.
For B and C: Make sure all internal loads (A,V,& M) on FBDs are drawn in the assumed positive direction. Represent distributed loads as equivalent point loads; do not solve for A,V, or M values.
