I am currently doing a teaching course TQUK level 5. for that i am teaching grade 1 math. I need to create a lesson plan on find out what the whole number is from fractions of 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4.

I need to Start the lesson by introducing the Learning objective: learn how to "Find the whole."Review whata wholeis?

Hook: Draw a bar model on the board.

How many parts is the whole divided into? How many counters are there in each part?1/3 = 5 Now, how many counters do you think are there alltogether as a whole?Reminding students all parts are equal.

We can use array counters to fill in the other parts.Do couple of more examples like this on the board.

Can you help me make a lesson plan for the above along with a fun starter?
