There are twelve shirts in your closet, seven blue and five green. Five of the blue shirts and four of the green shirts fit well. The others are too big. You randomly select a shirt to wear. It is green or fits well.
What is the probability of randomly choosing a shirt that is green or fits well?
This is what I was thinking:
If there are 12 shirts and you either choose a green shirt or fits well you would have 5/12 + 4/12 = 9/12 or did I have to include the blue shirts that fit well too?
