I am reviewing the data analysis process in Sim et al (2015) and it is not clear what theoretical framework was used. Do you have a suggestion on what it might be? We only have basic information that children were pre-tested (with no detail) and then post-tested (again no detail on how) and no information on how the overall gain was decided. Whilst there is a graph that represents hours of intervention vs overall gain, it is not clear how that overall gain was measured (unless I am missing something), what type of data and statistical analysis was undertaken - it is not clear to me unless we move from the procedure to the findings section of the document.

Also, whilst there was a sample size of 56 children, how can it be deemed whether this is sufficient for a sample? It seems the more in the sample, the more reliable the sample (also if it is randomly selected).
