I believe Supply Chain problems are the biggest issues facing U.S. manufacturers today. As we discussed in class if there is one bottleneck in the supple chain it will delay the entire manufacturing process. You had a great example with Spirit. In your example you explained that Spirit was capable of restarting production of their fuselage's. However Boeing's other supplier's were unable to restart their production. This forced Boeing to delay restarting production of the 737. The seconded biggest issue facing supplier in my opinion is a labor shortage. Although the U.S. is in a recession we are also at full employement. U.S. manufacturers are struggling to fill jobs and this is also causing gaps in the supply chain. Untill all suppliers are able to ramp back up to full production, U.S. manufacturing will remain uncertain.
