I. C$.$ Clearly worked as a marble and tile contractor. He was invited to bid on work to be performed as a part of the construction of a new McMansion. Clearly went to the general contractor's office to view the plans and specifications before making his bid. When he arrived, he discovered that he had forgotten his spectacles $($yes$,$ this problem is taken from a fairly old court opinion$)$ and was unable to read the plans.
