I cannot stress how important it is for business students to understand the impact of leadership and transitions at organizations. Some transitions are highly successful, but many reflect the challenge of boards to select proper leaders whose impacts may not be apparent at first (see p. 35 for a short list of failed leaders), but damage may be only around the corner.

Please read either this articlefrom Businessweek about how Apple transitioned from Steve Jobs to Tim Cook, or select a leader from the list or within the chapter -Zuckerberg, etc., or other any other leader you want to research (coaches, religious leaders, military, ex. Elizabeth Holmes, etc.) and discuss their impact. You may want to review cognitive biases and decision making (p. 58-62) which often are a clue to failed leadership.
