I have worked with an angry customer before I worked in a worker compensation clinic and a patient was upset they was waiting to long for they appointment to start. I simply apologies to the patient and let the doctor know they have a upset patient and if we can get them in the room as soon as possible . The provider agreed and also apologized for the wait. This calmed the patient down and the situation . Which helped avoided further conflict.
