I need help coming up with a proposal idea for a regression test for an assignment
For the theory paper Akerlof, GA.,1970, propose an empirical study motivated by your choice of paper. Your proposed empirical study should test the theory directly, or test one of the assumptions, conditions, or implications of the theory. Cite at least one finance literature paper that already tests or is motivated by this theory and explain how your proposal is different from this existing empirical paper. Explain how your proposal is similar to this existing empirical paper. State a clear hypothesis that you will be testing. Clearly state a dependent and independent variable. State a basic regression model or other statistical test, such as a t-test. Give a potential data source for your study. Last, frame the potential results of your study and how they would be consistent with either rational expectations or mispricing (or both).
Theory papers:

Rubric:
- Summarize a proposal for an empirical study motivated by your choice of paper.
- Briefly summarize the relevant aspects of the theory that you will test.
- Clearly explain how your empirical study tests the theory directly, or tests one of the assumptions, conditions, or implications of the theory.
- Cite and briefly describe at least one empirical paper that already tests or is motivated by this theory. Explain how your proposal is similar to, and difference from, this existing empirical paper.
- State a clear hypothesis that you propose to test.
- Clearly state a dependent and independent variable for your test(s).
- Describe a basic regression model or other statistical test, such as a t-test.
- Describe a potential data source for your study. (CRSP, WRDS, Yahoo finance, Fama French, etc.)
- Frame the potential results of your study and how they would be consistent with either rational expectations or mispricing (or both), or another critical aspect of the theory that you are testing.
- Overall quality of writing.
